Guidelines for 2024 Longtime Homeowner Assistance (LHA) Program GuidelinesThe LHA program helps eligible homeowners cover the Orange County portion of 2024 property taxes.
Program eligibility:
The LHA Program is accepting applications August 1 through November 1, 2024. All applications must be received by 5:00 PM on November 1st to allow time for processing. If you need assistance completing the application, please contact the Orange County Housing Helpline at 919-245-2655 or HousingHelp@orangecountync.gov.
LHA awards may, but are not guaranteed to, cover the Orange County portion (not the entirety) of 2024 property tax bills. Award amounts will be announced in January 2025.
All information shared as part of this application will be kept confidential and will not be shared with other parties or used for purposes other than determining eligibility for this program.
The EHA program assists households in Orange County that have experienced a life-changing event in the last 3 months which affects the household's ability to pay rent. If a member of the household who contributes to rent has experienced a death, illness, or loss of job, you are eligible to apply. Additionally, if you have received a court summons from the magistrate in small claims court, you are also eligible. You will need to provide documentation of your life-changing event or eviction in order to receive assistance.
